Era IGT Umbria Sangiovese is Lamborghini’s personal interpretation of the most widespread grape variety in the Lake Trasimeno area. It was produced for the first time with the 2007 vintage.
Its name comes from Monte Era Che, which dominates the vineyards and the estate with its harmonious, rounded shape. The mountain in turn owes its name to Hera, wife of Zeus and queen of Olympus, goddess of marriage and fertility in Greek mythology.
The Era vineyards have a high planting density, with about 5,500 vines per hectare and yields that do not exceed 1.5 kg per plant.
The maceration of this wine is fifteen days in contact with the skins. Ageing for malolactic fermentation is carried out for five months in barrels and then the wine rests for another six months in the bottle.
Ruby red in colour with a tendency to garnet, the Nose: has notes of dried leaves and humus, followed by red fruits and nutmeg. The palate is pleasantly sapid, with firm tannins and a long finish.
We recommend pairing it with red meats and cheese.
