In the 1950s, Don Domingo Catena began using Malbec from vineyards in Altamira, in the Uco Valley. The high light intensity and cool nights of this region provide an elegant, mineral, slightly spicy Malbec with a voluptuous texture and intense flavors.
Cold maceration for 5 days at 10°C (50°F). Fermentation for 16 days. Post-fermentation maceration for 10 days. 12 months in barrel. Barrel selection varies according to vineyard and vintage. French oak.
Terroir: Clayey soil of alluvial origin with large oval stones at depth. (80% sand – 10% clay – 10% silt). Origin: Altamira, Uco Valley, Argentina.
