Lamborghini Classici CAMPOLEONE IGT with gift box
87,12 € VAT included
Campoleone is Lamborghini’s most representative wine. Composed of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Merlot, it is produced in Umbria, in the area of Lake Trasimeno.
Part of the vineyards from which it originates were planted in the 1970s, although most of the vines are more recent. Its density is 5,500 vines per hectare and the yield per plant never exceeds one kilo.
Maceration lasts eighteen days in contact with the skins. After malolactic fermentation, carried out entirely in barrels, Sangiovese and Merlot are aged separately for twelve months in French oak barrels.
The wines are blended just before bottling to refine for at least six more months.
Campoleone is a long-aged red wine, elegantly complex and with a solid structure. It has a deep ruby red colour, and its bouquet is very broad, oscillating between notes of cassis, plums, violets, tobacco and leather with a slightly spicy balsamic background. The tannins are ripe and enveloping and the finish is long and persistent.
It goes well with roasted red meats, game, spicy cheese and chocolate.
